About Us

Thank you for visiting Flight of the Pegasus. I am Lee (Capt. Vinnie)  and First-mate Moby-Dawg, a 4-year old Australian Shepherd (born Dec. 30, 2007).   We live aboard Pegasus at the Pier 32 Marina in National City (5 miles south of San Diego).

I am a member of the San Diego Sail & Power Squadron. I am US Sailing certified in small boats and keel boats out of the Mission Bay Aquatic Center in San Diego.  Previously, I owned a 1991 30′ Hunter sailboat named Serendipity.  At the end of July 2010, I bought a 1979 Hans Christian 38, Mk II, denamed and renamed her Pegasus and moved aboard on August 13, 2010.

Previously, I sometimes raced in the summer Beer Can series out of Coronado Cays Yacht Club on a 30 foot Tartan 10, named Vandal, captained by Austin McMahon.  That boat has been decommissioned

I have sailed to Catalina Island, and I have chartered a 37 foot Irwin center cockpit sailboat, named U Got A B Kiddin, in the San Juan Islands, as part of the United States Power Squadron National Cruise 2010.  I traveled from Anacortes to Roche Harbor to Victoria, B.C., to Sidney, B.C., to Friday Harbor, and back to Anacortes in 6 days.

I am currently refurbishing the already excellently maintained Pegasus and entertaining a 5-7 year plan for world cruising.

Drop a line and enjoy the site.
